Italian painting: La Madonna del Divino Amore for the first time in Turin

Raffaello’s painting “La Madonna del Divino Amore” leaves the museum of Capodimonte in Naples and arrives for the first time in Turin at the Pinacoteca Agnelli from March 19 until June 28. The exhibition was conceived by the Neapolitan Museum to introduce the many works of study and restoration made on the painting which dates back to 1515.

The painting was made for Lionello da Carpi from Mendolla and then was moved to Rome where his nephew, Cardinal Rodolfo, was living. The presence in the background of the fortress of Meldolla, donated to Pio da Carpi by Leo X, confirms the masterpiece was made during the Renaissance period.
