Italian Fashion: Michele Miglionico guest at Italian Embassy in London (PR)

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 at 06.00pm at the Italian Embassy in London on the invitation of H.E. Pasquale Terracciano and his wife Mrs. Karen Lawrence held the event "Basilicata: Film, Fashion and Food in Southern Italy" promoted by the Local Action Group "La Cittadella del Sapere", by APT- Regione Basilicata and sponsored by the Lucana Film Commission.

The event aims to promote the uniqueness of Basilicata through its typical products using the language of cinema, food, wine and fashion.

On this occasion, the designer of origin lucan, Michele Miglionico, with his creations of haute couture plays, through its codes, the vast cultural, artistic and anthropological his land.

The new collection Michele Miglionico Haute Couture is inspired by women coming from lucan tradition, the Madonnas worshiped in this land, and carried in procession and its popular culture.

A collection inspired by the costumes of the eighteenth century, such as the overlapping skirts used to add volume to the hips or the use of hand-made embroidery and lace to highlight the waist of the cloak or garment of ancient greek influence.

All made in a blaze of organza doubled Valenciennes lace, lace covered tulle point d’esprit, brocade and silk taffeta.

Special attention for the first Christian-themed film shot 50 years ago in Matera (designated European Capital of Culture 2019), "The Gospel According to St. Matthew" by director Pier Paolo Pasolini has inspired the use of the veil is black organza tulle in this collection.

Six installations have been exhibited in the halls of residence of the Ambassador accompanied by the presence of models and images to tell the exibition in a contemporary way: The Sacredness, Costume, Inspiration and Colors of this land with a woman-madonna in the balance between the sacred and the profane but always romantic and sensual.

The look of the models is completed by the jewelry and sculpture Monies from the exclusive collaboration of Giusy D’Onghia, Art Director Kulto Hair Academy, for the hairstyles and make-up by exporting his style in the Hair Fashion capital of the world, all for enhance the Italian Hair Design.
