I watched the Olympics unfold at Sochi and I am always amazed to see the results of the intense competition at the Olympics; some athletes succeed beyond their wildest imagination and others narrowly miss victory. Now that the Olympics are over, I thought it would be good to summarize the results for Italy.

Here is the link to a summary of the Italian team results: http://www.sochi2014.com/en/team-italy

Congratulations are in order for all of the members of the Italian team that participated and of course to those who won medals!

All of the Italian Olympians deserve mention, but I thought I would highlight one of my own personal experiences as I watched the games. One of my favorite sports is figure skating. I watched the whole competition with rapt attention. The smile on Cristina Kostner’s face was priceless when she took the bronze medal! She skated so beautifully and effortlessly. Carolina also expressed her reaction to winning beautifully on her twitter post: https://twitter.com/msKOSTNER/status/437157093377069056 . After the mix of past victories and struggles during her illustrious skating career, it must have been truly difficult for her to put into words the emotions she felt at receiving the bronze medal.

Ci sentiamo presto, Lina
