This spring we published an article about a very popular event hosted by the FAI ( Fondo Ambiente Italiano, or Italian Environment Fund) called "Giornata FAI di primavera" which opened many of Italy’s treasured natural settings to a wide audience. Since then, we have been following along with the information that FAI posts about other projects and events that they help promote.

As part of this outreach we have also established contact with Friends of FAI, an organization that helps carry out the mission of the FAI internationally. There is a chapter of that organization in the US.

According to the information provided on their site, the Friends of FAI organizes unique events, conferences and trips for those who wish to help FAI achieve its mission. It also provides its members with advanced information so that they can participate in FAI’s activities on a priority basis.

It also mentions that conferences, concerts and theatre performances with major Italian artists are organized in the United States to promote FAI and Italy’s vast cultural heritage. One example of their activity is the restoration of the Masino Library.

There is also an interesting article that they have posted on their site for a crowd-funding effort to help protect Bernini’s masterpiece: The Bust of Francesco I d’Este: http://www.friendsoffai.org/news.php

We hope to post additional articles about the events of FAI and Friends of FAI again soon.

Ci sentiamo presto, Lina
